Giovane Gentile Fashion and Style (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect
- Order details: your name, telephone number, email address, delivery and billing address, the items you order and your order history.
- Account details: your email address and a password (stored in scrambled, hashed form). An account is created with your first order so that you can see your order history and track deliveries.
- Technical information: your IP address and browser details, recorded when you use the site, to keep it secure and working.
- Cookies: the site uses cookies to keep your cart and your login while you shop. These are needed for the store to work.
You pay on delivery, so no card details are entered on this website.
Why we use it
- To process, confirm and deliver your order, including calling you to confirm it before dispatch.
- To send you order emails: receipts, updates and delivery information.
- To handle returns, refunds and complaints.
- To keep the records that tax and consumer law require.
- To protect the website and our customers against fraud and misuse.
We send marketing messages only if you have asked to receive them, and every message lets you unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers who help us run the store, and only what each needs:
- the people and courier companies who deliver your order;
- our website hosting provider, whose servers are in Germany;
- our email delivery and image storage providers, located in the United States.
These providers act on our instructions and are bound to keep your information confidential and secure. Where your information is processed outside South Africa, we use providers subject to data protection laws or agreements that give it a level of protection comparable to POPIA. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 5 years, as South African tax law requires, and account details for as long as your account is open. Information we no longer need is deleted or anonymised.
How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to customer information is limited to the staff who handle orders, and our systems are backed up and monitored.
Your rights
